Homemade White Sandwich Bread

My Homemade White Sandwich Bread

This year at market I plan on selling my homemade white bread, I may be selling some other yeast breads also but have not decided on that yet. I make my white bread the old fashioned way all by had, no bread machine or mixers involved here. It is nothing like store bought bread this is the real thing!

Stay True To You

So I was watching TV tonight (not something that I really do to often), I was watching Shark Tank. This guy was on there trying to get the people on the show to invest in his company, in which he sells cargo racks for trucks that fold down to be hidden. Anyhow this guy inspired this post, because he proudly makes his cargo racks in the USA, and the people on Shark Tank where very persistent that he should look to over seas to have his product produced. He refused and very strongly stood by his beliefs, and I think that was one of the main reasons they would not give him any money. I liked this guy because he stayed true to what he believed in, even though he could have easily gone against what he believed and taken the easy way out.

I think everyone at some point in their life have to make a decision whether they should stick to what they believe in, or they can give in, and be just like everybody else, take the easy way out.

My friend is who is in the process of going to nursing school right now, has lately been trying to stay true to herself, and trying her best not to just fall along with everyone else. Over the past year she has really struggled with her health and has been able to dramatically turn her health around. Because of this she has gained a lot of knowledge that could help a lot of people and will truly make her a way better nurse because of it. Anyhow what she is struggling with is hard to explain and would probably end up insulting some people, so I do not really want to get into it but the point is no mater how impossible it may seem you can stay true to yourself.

I have had many people tell me I am crazy for not selling my vegetables that I have picked earlier in the week at my Saturday market, but I refuse to do so. I believe in selling vegetables that are as fresh as they possibly can be. I tell everyone at my market that I pick all my vegetables fresh the day before the market and if I tell someone that, I do not intend to lie to them. Yes if I were to sell my week old produce I could make a lot more money, but that is not why I do what I do. I grow and sell my vegetables because it is something that I love to do and providing people with the best fresh produce I possibly can is part of what I love to do. I think the people who are truly the best at what they do are the way they are because they have a great deal of pride in what they do, and are also proud of why they do it. So keep that in mind, take pride in what you do and how you do it, and stay true to who you are and what you believe in, and you will be a better person because of it.

I do not know anything about these racks but, I liked this guy's way of thinking so much that I figured that I would post a link to his site: http://www.invisarack.com/ Just in case anyone is looking for a cargo rack made right here in USA.

Just a little inspirational post for everyone:)

Homemade Dog Treats

I have two golden retrievers Copper and Penny. Copper has diabetes which makes it difficult to give him treats because I try to watch everything that I give him. So I made the treats especially with him in mind but they are great for any dog.

The ingredients include:
White Rice Flour
Eggs
Oil
Peanut Butter
Salt
Cinnamon

I used white rice flour because it is gluten free and just like for people too much gluten is also not good for dogs. This is the reason why you may be noticing more and more pet foods that are gluten free.

They are pretty basic cookies but both my dogs go crazy for them especially Copper.

I am planning on making these dog cookies for the market this year, so look out for them this market season!

More Manure

Today I was able to get two more truck loads of manure. It does not look like much in the picture, but there is actually more than there may seem, and hopefully I should be able to get more before spring.

Sadly winter has not even really begun and I am already wishing that spring was here, looking around at everything wishing I could start working the land already. Unfortunately the ground is a little (that is an understatement) too wet and spring is still quite a ways off. One thing is for sure I just got new tires for my truck about 6 months ago and I am really glad I decided to get mud tires, if it was not for those tires who knows how many times I would have gotten my truck stuck in the mud this year.

In the picture below the area that is covered with straw is part of the area were my garlic is planted.
